James Naismith had a creative childhood. He was born in Canada on November 6th, 1861. James loved playing sports and he was really good at them. James was the best at lacrosse and rugby. Playing sports helped James when he was growing and this helped with his later inventions.
James Naismith had some cool accomplishments. In 1891 james came up to invent a game in springfeild,Massachusetts at the YMCA it was basketball. He also built and designed a early football helmet in 1898. Iast he wrote and published a book called “basketball” in 1941. When james was inventing, creating, and writing it was not that easy he did have some obstacles.
James had some roadblocks. One was he was challenged to create a game. It had to be played in and outdoors because of the cold massachusetts winters.
